About Me

I am Sergey Koryagin, I publish on the Internet under the nickname Corgeone. Welcome to my website LIFE/CLUSIVE, derived from “inclusive life” – this project is about inclusion of people with disabilities.

Briefly about me – geek, gamer and movie enthusiast. From a professional point of view, I have a higher education in the field of information technology and extensive experience in IT companies, including foreign ones. For more than 15 years I have been engaged in project management specialization and management of my own projects in the field of web-design and web-development.

As a hobby, I write on a very rare, but, as I think, important topic – I review video games, accessories and various equipment from the point of view of accessibility and special opportunities for people with disabilities.

This topic is close to my heart, because I myself face similar difficulties on a daily basis. I have a disease SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) – it is a problem with the muscles of the whole body, when it is impossible to move, hold even the lightest objects in hand or put a phone to my ear, and all the texts I have to type on a smartphone, or use voice input, because I can not type on the keyboard. The disease is constantly progressing, but, nevertheless, it does not prevent me from playing and living a full life, although I constantly have to adapt to new realities.

I mostly interact with video games on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, using various accessories such as CronusMax Plus, Cronus Zen and a special gamepad from Microsoft in the form of Xbox Adaptive Controller, which helps me play comfortably and is a completely unique device – I devoted a separate large article to it. Due to my physical features even the shape of the gamepad is very important, some I can’t hold and therefore play. So the selection and use of comfortable ergonomic accessories is very important in my case.

I play a lot, in different titles and genres, you can see the list in my game accounts. Each introduction to a new game starts with a detailed study of special features, if any, and reconfiguring the controls to suit you. This can sometimes take up to several hours. Many modern games, in most cases, have quality built-in special features and settings, but some developers, unfortunately, do not pay attention to this functionality, or make it very shallow and unsuitable for full use. More often than not, it is the presence of such settings that is the decisive factor as to whether or not a person with features can get acquainted with a particular product.

The topic of disability accessibility applies not only to video games and video-related devices, but also to any other technology and accessories, including smartphones, computers and laptops, televisions, audio-video equipment, and even operating systems. For instance, when buying any new device I always look into the availability of control via an app on my smartphone, because I can’t use the remotes due to weakness in my hands.

This is what this site is about. Very important “little things” that to many may seem like just an unnecessary and unnoticeable menu item, while to others it will turn out to be the only way to interact with the product. I talk about my personal experience of interaction with video games, accessories and technology with the hope that I can help people who face similar problems at least a little, to overcome the barrier of inaccessibility, to adapt and comfortably enjoy video games and other necessary devices.

One day I will talk in detail and make a video about how my surroundings, in which I am around the clock, are set up, but for now I will just keep here a list of the devices I use daily for work and fun.
